Does anyone agree that YouTube shorts are increasing subscribers but destroying our fanbase while watering down the value of our creativity. Our work is reduced to something that allows for a lack of audience concentration, while enabling the deficit.
I believe we need to concentrate on long-form video... something that has artistic value! YouTube needs to realise this so we are not penalised by algorithms if we don't post 59 second videos every day at exactly the same time regardless of how long it takes, how little we get back or how mindless it becomes.
Its time for artists to fight the constant battle for never ending content and spend more time on creative pursuits with value.

That's been the case with the whole streaming industry for a long time now. Artistic value is no longer currency. A 90-second song on a streaming service will get more revenue than a 5 minute song as it is repeated more often. TikTok wants 30-second clips of music to accompany videos. Spotify want to replace artists with AI generated music. Algorithms don't care as music is now a disposable commodity.
